044 | Be Badass: Healthy Eating Habits
Practice healthy eating habits in the Be Badass challenge! By the end of the episode, you’ll have all the information you need to build on your sleep habit and stress habit by adding a healthy eating habit.
This episode kicks of phase 3 of 4 as I shift the focus to nutrition. In this episode, I again break down the steps for how to choose and implement a healthy habit, with a focus on nutrition. I then give 15 healthy eating habit ideas to help you brainstorm the right habit for you to focus on to help you achieve your goals.
Remember, for this habit to achieve its purpose – which is to help you feel like your best and most badass self – you have to choose habits that are the most meaningful for you.
Choose and Implement Healthy Eating Habits
- Identify where you’re at now, mentally and situationally.
- Identify where you want to go and how you want to feel.
- Review the list you made of general healthy habits or actions that have worked for you before and potential habits that may be worth trying, or trying again.
- Select one healthy eating habit you want to practice that supports where you want to go and how you want to feel. Identify an existing habit or trigger that you can use for habit stacking or to use as your cue for the habit.
- Identify what this habit looks like under the worst case scenario, when you’re in crisis mode or just off your normal routine—create your plan B for these moments so you can stay on track.
- Finally, consider how you want to track this habit and how you know if it’s working.
15 Healthy Eating Habits
- Prioritize water.
- To build off of that, limit the calories you drink.
- Plan ahead.
- Take planning ahead to the next level with meal prepping.
- Remove distractions and eat mindfully.
- Track your meals.
- Prioritize whole foods.
- Be saucy in moderation.
- Speaking of measuring, measure your cooking oils.
- A final measurement habit to consider: measure your portions.
- Use smaller plates—and give yourself permission to have seconds.
- Choose sweets and treats you actually like.
- Pack a snack.
- Incorporate protein whenever you eat.
- Prioritize fiber.
