024 | Establish Healthy Routines With Me

Routines can be helpful for a lot of reasons, especially if you’re struggling with motivation and discipline. That’s because routines get you into a pattern of habits that you can do without thinking too much about it. That means not overthinking it and falling into the “I don’t want to do this” trap.

In this episode, I outline some steps for creating healthy routines, and then I walk you through what this process looked like for me.

The steps include:

  1. Identify the scope of your routines, as in what chunk of time, be it a particular part of the day, full day, week, month, whatever.
  2. Identify the types of habits and actions that are priorities for you. Basics include sleep, stress management, food and nutrition, and movement and exercise.
  3. Identify your non-negotiables during the week.
  4. Ask yourself a series of questions to increase self-awareness around what kinds of habits are going to work best for you at certain points during the day.
  5. Plan morning routines. Start with one day and adapt for the rest.
  6. Plan evening routines. Start with one day and adapt for the rest.
