032 | Let Me Overthink That for You: The Problem with Trying Too Hard
You’re excited. You’ve made the decision that you want to do something, whether that’s lose weight, get fit, up-level your lifestyle, fix all your bad habits, or whatever. So you start digging into it, doing the research and making the plan.
But inevitably, the more you dig, the more details you find and the more you start to feel like you’re in over your head.
In this podcast episode, I talk about the two traps that many of us fall into when we try too hard and get overwhelmed:
- We get so overwhelmed that we do nothing.
- The overwhelm manifests as excitement and we try to do ALL THE THINGS only to find we’ve bitten off more than we can chew and find ourselves with many partially completed initiatives but nothing to really show for our efforts… and we give up.
I’m guilty of both of these things. Not just once, but multiple times.
How do you overcome this?
You simplify.
