Healthy Lifestyle: Keep It Simple

I get it. When you’re excited about making a change or when you’ve come out the other side of a big change and you’re trying to get your shit together – you’re motivated. 

And when you’re motivated, you’ll go balls to the wall and do ALL THE THINGS. But extremes are hard to sustain, and when the motivation wanes (and it eventually will), those extremes become even less sustainable and you find yourself back at square one.

It’s frustrating, right? 

In this episode, I talk about two kinds of extremes that I think are pretty common: 

  • health habits 
  • lifestyle (routines vs. flexibility)

In this two-tier conversation, I provide more information and examples around common nutrition and exercise extremes and how they’re problematic, and then dive into the lifestyle component, where there needs to be some balance between routines and flexibility. 

Avoiding extremes is critical to keep you from obsessing about health and wellness. And why is this important? Because the idea is for badasses to focus on living their life – the health and wellness component should be an afterthought, it should feel effortless. How do you achieve that? With balance.
